LGBTQIA+ College Students’ Healthy Intimate Relationships

This qualitative photovoice study examines the experiences of LGBTQIA+ college students who self-identify as being in healthy intimate relationships. Using a broad definition of “intimate relationships” creates space for the exploration of students’ conceptions of relationships including (a)romantic, queer platonic, polyamorous, monogamous, and other ways that students define their intimate relationships.

    LGBTQ+ Student Veterans

This qualitative study seeks to learn about the ways that LGBTQ+ student veterans define and describe their social identities. Additionally, this work examines the ways that these students navigate environmental contexts within and beyond higher education including classrooms, social spaces, LGBTQ+ spaces, and veteran spaces.

Additional Ongoing Studies

Amanda has additional ongoing studies exploring questions such as:

  •  How can asexual college students’ experiences with sexual violence provide a new lens for understanding perpetrator behavior?
  • How do Higher Education and Student Affairs(HESA) graduate program coordinators enhance learning and development for HESA graduate students? How do power and privilege manifest in program coordinator hiring, responsibilities, and compensation?
  • What are the experiences of individuals participating in the faculty job market? How do power, privilege, and (in)equity, influence processes of faculty hiring?
